The Biblical Truth:
God seals me with His Spirit for all eternity
A verse to point us to that truth:
Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
Satan tries to get us to doubt our salvation. He tries to get us to question if we are even a Christian or not. When you slip up and sin, he will try to get you to forget who you are and what God has done inside of you!
2 Timothy 1:12 For these things I suffer, but I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed to Him until that Day.
1 John 5:11-13 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life, and whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God.
What you CAN know about your salvation:
Acts 16:31 They said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you and your household will be saved.”
- Did you believe?
John 10:28 I give them eternal life. They shall never perish, nor shall anyone snatch them from My hand.
- If you have Eternal Life, can you perish?
John 10:29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them from My Father’s hand.
- Can you be plucked out of God’s hand?
Ephesians 1:13 In Him you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and after believing in Him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,
- Have you been sealed?
God cannot lie (Titus 1:2), and when He makes a promise, He keeps it! He has promised that when you trust in Him alone for your salvation, He will give you Eternal Life and you will not come into condemnation! (John 5:24) God knew that mankind could not, and would not, keep His Covenant. He showed us this in the Old Testament. So He made a Covenant with Himself that could not be broken! This is His plan!
Hebrews 6:13-20 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could vow by no one greater, He vowed by Himself, 14 saying, “Surely I will bless you, and surely I will multiply you.” 15 So after Abraham had patiently endured, he obtained the promise. 16 For men indeed swear by a greater authority than themselves, and for them an oath of confirmation ends all dispute. 17 So God, wanting to show more abundantly the immutability of His counsel to the heirs of promise, confirmed it by an oath. 18 So that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us. 19 We have this hope as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, which enters the Inner Place behind the veil. 20 This is where Jesus has entered for us as a forerunner, since He has become the everlasting High Priest in the order of Melchizedek.
